After Inkheart and Inkspell, in the next installment of this tetralogy, dark shadows loom over Umbra.
Only a few weeks have passed since the White Women took Dustfinger away. Meggie and her parents are living in a peaceful, abandoned farmhouse that almost makes them forget the nightmares they endured at Night Castle, though when darkness falls and Meggie looks impatiently out the window waiting for Farid, she hears the cry of a rook… and then her father disappears into the forest.
