Find comfort and hope in the Psalms with this 100-day devotional intentionally crafted to meet you in your darkest moments. What if the days when darkness seems overwhelming didn’t have to feel so lonely? Mental health advocates Amber Ginter Johnson and Felicia Joy understand what it feels like to come to the end of yourself. Crafted out of their experiences with depression and emotional fatigue,
Psalms in the Dark shares hope, prayers, and sisterly encouragement through explorations of Scripture, thoughtful “been there” stories, and practical advice for moments of despair.
Scripture tells us that in this world, we will face trouble—the kind that touches our bodies, minds, and souls. But your struggles don’t scare God or drive Him away. They draw Him near, even when you can’t feel Him at all. And that’s exactly why the Psalms exist. Instead of a quick fix, discover an invitation into deep prayer and companionship with God as you journey through the three different types of Psalms—lament, praise, and thanksgiving—written by those who have been there too. Each of the 100 days includes:
- a specific psalm with the raw and honest emotions of someone crying out to God
- a brief devotion to remind you you’re not alone
- a key takeaway to hold as you go about your day
- a question to ponder or meditate on
- a prayer to give you words when you don’t have your own
- a simple and practical action step for combatting the darkness
No matter where you find yourself today, may this devotional give you the language for what you feel, reminders of who God is, and the quiet confidence that even here, especially
here, when the darkness
doesn’t lift, you are held.
