Philip B. Kunhardt, Jr., was a renowned writer and producer in both television and film and a former managing editor of Life magazine. His oldest son Philip B. Kunhardt III, in keeping with the family business, contributed heavily to the many popular historical documentaries his father produced for such television channels as PBS and Discovery. Philip B. Kunhardt, Jr., died in 2006.

Peter W. Kunhardt is the executive producer of Kunhardt Productions. He is a six-time Emmy Award–winning documentary filmmaker who produces shows for HBO, PBS, and many other US networks. Kunhardt lives in Chappaqua, New York.
