Brandi Carlile was born into a musically gifted, impoverished family on the outskirts of Seattle and grew up in a constant state of change, moving from house to house, trailer to trailer, fourteen times in as many years. Brandi Carlile is an 11-time GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter, performer, and producer, 2-time EMMY Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated composer, lyricist, and writer, #1 New York Times Bestselling author, and activist, who is known as one of music’s most respected voices.
