Summer is ending, and so are Daisy and Esther’s days at university (Susan still needs to finish medical school, of course). These last days together are worth their weight in gold, but soon it will be time for pomp, circumstance, and silly hats, as the girls head out into the world and face their futures!
Final exams, final friendship times, and some final goodbyes for Daisy, Esther, and Susan before the summer term wraps up, and it’s suddenly time to say goodbye to Sheffield!
In a follow-up to Holiday Special 2017, Esther goes for a job interview in London and reunites with her old friend Shelley Winters. While Esther covets Shelley’s metropolitan existence, Shelley is already tired of the rat race and her high pressure civil service job, and longs to publish brain-rotting books. So while Shelly tries to prepare Esther for her interview, Esther steers Shelley towards a glittering future among the literati!
When McGraw’s father dies unexpectedly, the small friend group is shaken. Susan struggles to be there for McGraw, but his usual stoicism has turned into a solid wall. With McGraw at home and Susan in their empty apartment alone, Esther and Daisy have to help Susan deal with someone who doesn’t seem to be dealing. What do you do for someone you love when you have no idea what they’re going through?
In times of a disastrous norovirus outbreak in McGraw’s for-fun cricket team, Susan, Esther, and Daisy are called upon to defend McGraw’s sportly honor. Can Esther stop goofing off? Will Daisy prove the greatest cricketer of all time?
It’s time for Esther to finish her final dissertation on “The Liminal Spaces Of The Great American Novel 1959-1980” but when inspiration dries up, she heads home to Tackleford for Easter. It’s not America, and it’s not 1959, but her now deserted small town is beginning to feel distinctly liminal.
It’s time for Daisy to get her driver’s license, but she may not really be a natural behind the wheel. Can she overcome her nerves to become the ultimate motorist, and (for everyone’s safety) should she be allowed to?

Attempting to raise funds for Christmas presents, Daisy and Ed Gemmell take a job at a “Winter Village” that turns out to be a borderline-illegal shambles. Can Daisy save Christmas? Or should she just go home?
Nominated for a 2018 Eisner Award! With the air still clouded with weirdness in Esther and Ed’s shared house, Esther contemplates what it is that’s still standing between them and making everything feel…icky. The question is, does Esther want to kiss, or just to make up?
Everything’s coming up Daisy! Her residents are flourishing, classes are great, and she might even go on a date soon. She is 1000% over Ingrid. It doesn’t bother her at all that Ingrid has already moved on. Not even a little.
Ed Gemmel returns to Sheffield after a summer spent healing bones and also his heart. Esther does her best to welcome him back, but neither of them have forgotten his drunken confession.
