THE NAME GAME

In his mission to lose his virginity and break the August 31st time loop, Suzuki has gotten into the habit of going to his friends for advice on talking to women. One friend in particular, the pompadour-sporting Akabane, offers up an unconventional method: playing the classic dating sim Dokidoki Demorial. During their late-night gaming and brainstorming session, Suzuki becomes convinced that the key to intimacy lies not in perfect dates or the right mood, but in name-calling—specifically, first names! But will this bold move be enough to sweep Takagi off her feet?

Stuck in an endless August 31st that only they remember, Suzuki and Takagi still don’t seem any closer to figuring out how to break the loop. On the surface their relationship seems just as stagnant. So when Takagi suggests she and Suzuki go on a hot springs trip together, Suzuki’s hopes immediately shoot sky high. He even makes sure to procure some necessary protection in case the opportunity arises. Later, alone in their room, things start getting steamy. Will Suzuki and Takagi finally take the next step?!

Slowly but surely, things between Suzuki and Takagi are starting to heat up. A bit of shy handholding at karaoke leads Takagi to insist Suzuki stay overnight at her house until the loop restarts. But once he arrives, it seems like she’s less interested in making out and more worried about the ghost she believes is haunting her! Are there even more supernatural forces at play? Or is something else haunting their (almost) relationship?

Suzuki never expected getting a girlfriend to be easy. But after facing up to his true feelings, he’s more determined than ever to woo his time-loop comrade, Takagi, even if she isn’t quite on the same page yet. He decides to shake things up with a series of dates hoping something, anything, will change things for the better and stop the loop: shopping trips, hanging out at the library, even an excursion to a theme park. But will it be another couple’s own awkward first date that provides him with the solution he’s seeking?
