No trace was found of the boy; only his mother’s body was found, strangled in the family home in a small town in the Pyrenees. Seven years later, the victim’s family hires criminologist Lena Mayoral, hoping to uncover new evidence in a case that is shrouded in mystery.

Running from the nightmares plaguing her after her brush with the serial killer known as “the Executioner,” Lena agrees to take a room in the house where the child disappeared. The investigation gets more complicated, however, when the body of a teenage girl is found in the town church. The victim was fifteen, the same age Daniel would be now. And all the while, the Executioner is in jail awaiting trial, obsessing about the woman who unmasked him and counting the days until he comes face to face with her again.

Besieged by threats that only seem to multiply and isolated in a remote locale where ghosts seem all too real, Lena races against time to stem the tide of death overtaking the valley.
