After the death of their parents, Ataru Kashiwagi and his younger sister, Yuri, depend on each other. Ataru works hard at high school and his job, and spends his leisure time on a social media site: Real Account. Eventually, he hits 1,500 followers, but he sometimes wonders how much they really care about him. One night, the screen ominously begins to glitch, only displaying: The Game Will Now Begin. In the blink of an eye, Ataru finds himself transported into Real Account’s loading screen – except now it’s a 3-D lobby! Before them stands Marble, the smiley-faced announcer. With a sinister cheerfulness, Marble says, “If you die in here, you die out there…and so do all your followers!”

“Social Justice Hunters 24/7” concludes with a decisive battle between Yuma and Zui, but this is soon followed by a fateful reunion between Yuma and Ataru…and why is Ataru trying so desperately to kill his own brother? In the next game, “Anonymous Classroom,” the players must root out the hidden traitor amongst them, but with each new attempt ending in failure, another player is sacrificed. Yuma, Ayame, and the other players trapped in Real Account are suffering from mental and physical exhaustion as the “Reply or Regret” game drags on. As they fight to stay awake, a game changer arrives in the form of “stickers.” Collecting these emoticon images may be the key to outsmarting the game, but Yuma has more than just Marble working against him. On top of the threat of the Real Account servers getting shut down, an unpredictable and sadistic player has his sights set on Yuma…and he won’t stop until Yuma is in complete despair!

Like many of his peers, Ataru Kashiwagi has found himself addicted to the newest social networking service, Real Account. But one day, Ataru and almost 10,000 other people, get sucked into the Real Account Zone, where they have become players in a series of deadly games. The basic rules of these games are simple—if you lose all your followers, you die in real life, and if you die, all of your followers die with you. As these depraved games decimate the players around him, Ataru must use quick thinking and his knowledge of Real Account to win each round and return to the real world. But when true friendship determines whether he lives or dies, can Ataru really survive when the only people he can count on are his Internet friends?
