If you love messy characters, gossip, and a story with a whole lot of drama, this one’s for you! Come and Get It is a true page-turner that I soaked up every second of. Millie Cousins, a super-senior RA at the University of Arkansas — who is itching to graduate — gets an unusual offer from Agatha Paul, a writer and visiting professor working on her next big project. At the time, this seemed like a perfect and mutually beneficial opportunity. However, a lonely transfer student, unruly residents, and illicit intrigue make both Millie and Agatha question just how much they are willing to trade to get what they want. One of my favorite reads of the year already!

Emily Henry is doing Emily Henry things yet again with this one! Our main character Daphne finds herself in a situation she would’ve never predicted. Yes, she has her dream job as a children’s librarian, but at the cost of being stuck in Waning Bay, Michigan, without friends or family, and proposing to be roommates with her ex-fiancé’s new fiancée’s ex, Miles. And of course, Miles is her polar opposite — what could go wrong? Funny Story quickly became one of my favorites from Emily Henry, and it’s a perfect 2025 re-read in anticipation of her new book Great Big Beautiful Life, coming later this year.
