This is a cozy fantasy, featuring Emily Wilde, who journeys to a small village in the north for academic research, only to be joined by her frustrating (and frustratingly handsome) colleague Wendell Bambleby. The two befriend the townsfolk and uncover secrets, making for a charming and heartwarming read. It’s one of my all-time favorites and a go-to recommendation!

This is one of the most joyful books I’ve ever read! The Prospects follows minor league baseball players Gene and Luis, former teammates and bitter rivals, who have to get along now that they’re on the same team again. Between the baseball underdog story and a slow-burn romance, what’s not to love?

Vampires of El Norte
by Isabel Cañas
I read most of this book on a plane in one sitting — I could not put it down! I was hooked from the first vampire appearance. This book has everything. It’s a well-researched historical fiction novel, a friends-to-lovers romance, a paranormal horror with plenty of vampires, and so many heart-pounding twists you won’t see coming. It’s got something for every type of reader!
