Juan Goytisolo is considered by many to be Spain’s greatest living writer. He has published over forty books in various genres. He also wrote the introduction for a recent translation of Fernando de Rojas’ Celestina. Born in Barcelona in 1931, he was a child during the Spanish Civil War. Goytisolo moved to Paris in 1956, where he still lives today.
