A master of inventive fiction, William H. Gass invites readers into a mesmerizing collection of two novellas and four short stories that blur the line between reality and imagination. From the author of THE TUNNEL.
“Impressive. . . . Demonstrates Gass’s continued experiments with narrative form.” —The New York Times Book Review
In “In Camera,” a reclusive photographer’s carefully ordered world begins to unravel when an unexpected visitor disrupts his strange, dust-filled sanctuary of images. In “Don’t Even Try, Sam,” the famous piano from Casablanca reflects on memory, fame, and survival in a world where objects outlast their owners.
Perfect for readers who enjoy thought-provoking literary fiction that challenges convention and rewards close attention. Incisive, darkly funny, formally innovative and linguistically stunning, Eyes is a tour de force of modern fiction.
