The Very First Americans

Bryna Waldman is a landscape painter, writer, illustrator, and teacher. Her books have received the Christopher Award, the National Jewish Book Award, the ALA Notable Children’s Book Award, and the Parents’ Choice Award, and she has illustrated the book jackets for seven Newbery Honor books, among them A Fine White Dust by Cynthia Rylant and Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.
