La filósofa Lectrice Santos es expulsada de la universidad tras atreverse a dictar una conferencia sobre el placer y la censura. Su único crimen: desafiar a sus alumnas a pensar por qué la novela más polémica de la literatura contemporánea ha desaparecido de todas las bibliotecas del mundo. Invitada a participar en un seminario sobre literatura y erotismo, hastiada de la Academia y agobiada por los fantasmasde su pasado, Santos reivindica la importancia de leer y releer clásicos como Lolita, de Vladimir Nabokov, sin dejarnos arrastrar por los prejuicios del presente. Así, lo que comienza como una clase magistral sobre la vida y obra del escritor ruso, se transforma en un acto de resistencia contra la amnesia ideológica que amenaza con borrar las obras incómodas de la historia.

Philosopher Lectrice Santos was expelled from college after daring to give a lecture on pleasure and censorship. Her one crime: challenging her students to think about why the most controversial novel in contemporary literature is missing from every single library in the world. Invited to participate in a seminar on literature and eroticism, tired of academia, and beset by the ghosts of her past, Santos defends the importance of reading and rereading classics such as Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov, without being dragged by current prejudices. Thus, what begins as a masterclass on the life and works of the Russian author, transforms into an act of resistance against the ideological amnesia that threatens to erase every uncomfortable work from history.

Filled with humor and erudition, Beyond Reproach is a journey that blurs the boundaries between fiction, thought, and critique, in which Miguel explores the instability of truth, the politics of language, and literary exile as punishment. And she challenges us: do we wish to participate in this delirium beyond reproach, or limit ourselves to understand it from afar?
