Entre las ruinas humeantes de Gaza y las páginas amarillentas de los libros, un anciano espera.

¿A qué espera? Quizá a que alguien, por fin, se detenga a escuchar. Porque los libros que sostiene entre sus manos no son solo objetos: son fragmentos de una vida, destellos de una memoria, cicatrices de un pueblo.

Cuando un joven fotógrafo francés enfoca su cámara hacia ese anciano rodeado de libros, ignora que está a punto de cruzar el espejo. «Detrás de cualquier mirada, ¿no hay una historia? La de una vida. La de todo un pueblo, a veces», murmura el librero. Así comienza la odisea palestina de un hombre que ha hecho de las palabras su refugio, su resistencia y su patria.

Del éxodo a la prisión, del compromiso a la desilusión política, de los hijos que vemos crecer y vivir a las tragedias que nos arrebatan a quienes amamos, su voz nos guía por los laberintos más íntimos de la historia.

Among the smoking ruins of Gaza and the yellowed pages of books, an old man waits.

What is he waiting for? Perhaps for someone to finally stop and listen. Because the books he holds in his hands are not just objects—they are fragments of a life, flashes of memory, scars of a people.

When a young French photographer points his camera at this old man surrounded by books, he has no idea that he is about to cross the mirror. “Behind every gaze, isn’t there a story? The story of a life. Sometimes the story of an entire people,” murmurs the bookseller. Thus begins the Palestinian odyssey of a man who has made words his refuge, his resistance, and his homeland.
