En este libro, Sergio Roitberg analiza el impacto profundo y multidimensional que tuvo la pandemia del COVID-19 en nuestra forma de ser, pensar, trabajar, comunicarnos y vincularnos. Nuestra lucha por sobrevivir prevaleció y nos hizo resilientes. Aprendimos a hacerle frente a la adversidad a velocidad récord y de ese vértigo nacieron nuevas formas de relacionarnos, de estudiar, de trabajar, de atender nuestra salud, de consumir.

Asumimos el cambio como una oportunidad y comprendimos que la comunicación debía ser emocional, auténtica y profunda, porque nadie se salva solo. También entendimos que una conexión genuina solo podía darse en un escenario común, guiado por un propósito compartido, y que la tecnología estaba llamada a ser un medio al servicio de ese fin, nunca el fin en sí mismo.

Para reflexionar sobre el antes y el después, Sergio Roitberg entrevistó a más de cien expertos y líderes en educación, neurociencia, sociología, negocios, finanzas, tecnología e inteligencia artificial. Con ellos intentó poner en palabras lo que nos pasó pero, sobre todo, descifrar qué cambió y qué permanece tras el estremecimiento global más profundo de las últimas décadas: una revolución que apenas comienza.

It is not merely a record of events, but a reflection on how this disruptive moment transformed us forever, ushering in a new era: the era of the unknown.

When we look back and recall the pandemic, the natural impulse is to want to forget. Yet, several years after that tsunami that brought the world to a halt and forced us to confront ourselves, here we still are.

And there is no denying it: that shock, for which no one was prepared, changed us. It marked the starting point of the fastest and most massive sociocultural transformation of our time. A great reboot, a true reset. That jolt taught us that nothing was set in stone and signaled the beginning of an era of uncertainty—the era of the unknown—that put our capacity to adapt to the test. Our struggle to survive prevailed and made us resilient.

We learned to face adversity at record speed, and from that vertigo emerged new ways of relating, studying, working, caring for our health, and consuming. We embraced change as an opportunity and came to understand that communication had to be emotional, authentic, and profound, because no one is saved alone. We also realized that genuine connection could only exist within a shared context, guided by a common purpose, and that technology was meant to be a means in service of that goal, never an end in itself.

To reflect on the before and after, Sergio Roitberg interviewed more than one hundred experts and leaders in education, neuroscience, sociology, business, finance, technology, and artificial intelligence. Together, they sought to put into words what happened to us and, above all, to decipher what changed and what endures after the deepest global upheaval of recent decades—a revolution that is only just beginning.
