In this sharply funny tale of mistaken identity, follow an exasperated oppossum through her terrible day as a little girl confuses her for a kitty.
Meet Fig, an opossum perfectly content to nap, snack, and occasionally play dead when the situation calls for it. Usually playing dead gets her out of sticky situations…. but not today.
When a small human spots Fig in the grass and squeals, “It’s a kitty!”, everything goes downhill fast. Before Fig can scurry off, she’s swept over the girl’s shoulder and carried into a whirlwind of well-intentioned chaos. She tries to protest, but the human has plans.
Soon she’s the unwilling guest at a tea party, the patient in a highly questionable medical exam, and the reluctant hero battling invisible villains from a cardboard pirate ship. Fig negotiates, protests, and plays dead (again), but the human’s imagination is unstoppable. And just when Fig thinks the day can’t get stranger, the human proudly shows her new “kitty” to Mama…with spectacularly disastrous results.
Bursting with laugh-out-loud humor and escalating mayhem, Andrea Zuill delivers pure comedic delight from beginning to end.
