In the aftermath of the Great War, Biggles is contacted by an ambassador in London, alerting him to growing tensions between the small European nation of Maltovia and their sabre-rattling neighbour, Lovitzna. Maltovia needs help to create an air force to protect themselves, and Biggles is just the man for the job.

After a menacing visit from the Lovitznian Minister in London, Biggles is convinced: he will offer Maltovia his services.

Upon arriving there, however, Biggles quickly senses something isn’t right: the Commander-in-Chief of the Maltovian forces is strangely hostile, and Biggles’ aircraft hangar is set ablaze in mysterious circumstances. This is not the simple mission it was meant to be

With suspicions against both sides, can Biggles and his crew settle the conflict before tensions come to a head?

Following a bad bout of fever, Biggles is taking it easy. His doctor has advised him that a sea voyage will do him good, and so he is relaxing aboard the S.S. Stavritos bound for Athens, with Algy and Ginger for company.

It is not all smooth sailing, however. Disaster occurs when a fighter plane attacks and crashes into the deck, sinking the ship and forcing everyone on board to swim to safety.

Exhausted but alive, Biggles and the gang make it to the shore of Barcelona but they have swapped the frying pan for the fire. A chance encounter with a British intelligence agent, a hunchbacked assassin and a mysterious coded document lands them in a web of espionage.

With enemies at every turn, can Biggles, Algy and Ginger make it back to England alive, and keep the document from falling into the wrong hands?

Out on a walk in London with Algy and Ginger, Biggles bumps into a young lad called Dick Denver. A chance encounter perhaps, but there isn’t time for formal introductions.

Dick knows the location of a secret treasure trove, hidden in an old pirate ship in the Caribbean. His father’s final letter contained a map detailing how to find it, and a single gold doubloon as proof. He needs Biggles’ help to find the rest.

Paul Cronfelt, head of a firm of bullion brokers called Cronfelt and Carstairs, has a problem. Shipments of gold and precious stones being ferried between European capitals by aeroplane are being lost, the planes either crashing in mysterious circumstances or else landing without the valuables they set off with.

The situation cannot be allowed to continue, and he needs a brave, daring pilot who can find out what is happening and put a stop to it, once and for all. He needs Biggles, and asks him to set up a new airline to transport the valuable cargo.

Biggles is reluctant to take on the enterprise. Until, that is, he receives a mysterious telephone call from Germany, warning him off Together with Algy, Ginger and Smyth, Biggles & Co. is born!

A mysterious black aeroplane and a dastardly plot.

Forced down by thick fog, Biggles and Algy cut short a pleasure flight and land on a river in Norfolk to wait out the weather. Exploring the banks, they stumble across a wartime pillbox with papers written in German hidden inside! Shortly afterwards, a massive plane painted black to camouflage it against the night sky sets down on the water with a roar.

Biggles investigates, boarding the craft to find it is a bomber of immense proportions. He quickly finds himself in trouble when, becoming trapped inside one of the plane’s compartments, he feels it take off with him still inside!

Biggles flies to Brazil to hunt for the treasure of an ancient civilisation

The Great War is over, and Biggles is bored. The adrenaline-pounding thrill of flying over the trenches seems a lifetime ago. When he receives word that his uncle is back in the country from his own adventures, Biggles takes Algy along to visit him.

But Biggles’ uncle is in a spot of hot water. While he was exploring in Brazil, he found himself on the trail of a long-lost treasure. But, before he could locate it, his treacherous porters turned against him, tracked him back to England, and now have him under siege in his own house.

Biggles is not going to let this stand. Together, he and Algy help him break out. There is only one thing to do: fly back to Brazil, and be the first ones to find the treasure.

It is the late 1930s. With the after-images of the Roaring Twenties fading and the world heading once more towards conflict, Biggles, Algy and Ginger head for tropical climes, and the trio layover in Belize.

While there, Biggles looks up his old pal Carruthers, Acting Governor of the territory, who is having problems. Someone rumours abound about a self-styled ‘King of the Forest’ is interrupting the flow of the nation’s chief export, chicle, which is used to make chewing gum. In addition, three Americans have gone missing in the jungle, reportedly looking for treasure.

Belize has no air force, and so Biggles volunteers to take his amphibious aircraft, Wanderer, upriver to investigate

Professor Max Beklinder, a British explosives expert, has reportedly been killed in a car crash in his native Lucrania, now under the control of an increasingly bellicose Germany.

But when a British agent reports Beklinder has since been seen alive with the Chief of the Secret Police, the authorities need to confirm for certain whether he is alive or dead. He had been working on a powerful new weapon for Britain that cannot fall into enemy hands.

When several intelligence agents fail to report back, Britain calls on Biggles, who immediately agrees to parachute into Lucrania with Ginger. Together they must find Beklinder, dead or alive, and make it back to Blighty. Little do they know that their old nemesis, Erich von Stalhein, is in play

Answering a call for help from an old friend, Biggles, Algy, Ginger and Smyth fly to Fort Beaver in Canada. There they intend to meet up with Wilks, or Captain Wilkinson of 187 Squadron as he used to be known.

Wilks has started a small airline business called ‘Arctic Airways’ but is having problems with a man named Jake ‘Brindle’ McBain and his cronies.

But when they arrive, Wilks is nowhere to be found, and Biggles gets an unfriendly reception…
