    Penguin Random House is partnering with our longtime friends at First Book on their “Give a Million” campaign. During the holidays, First Book works to gift one million books to children living in poverty – many of whom may not otherwise receive a gift.

    PRH Canada Recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers for 2023

    Penguin Random House Canada is extremely proud and honored to announce that it has once again been recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers. The honor, given annually since 2000 through Canada’s Top 100 Employers to employers who set the standard for workplace best practices and forward-thinking policies, is awarded based on a rigorous evaluation of criteria ranging from employee benefits and vacation time to work atmosphere and community involvement.

    Luminous 1st Week for Michelle Obama’s “The Light We Carry”

    “Becoming,” Michelle Obama’s previous book, was a record-setting, bestselling memoir, so expectations and anticipation for her newest, “The Light We Carry,” have been enormous since the July announcement of its November 15 publication by Crown. In its first days on sale, it is not only meeting those expectations, but generating enough super-wattage energy to illuminate bookselling and social media communities.

    Doubleday Bestselling Historian Author, Former Editor Thomas Cahill Has Died

    Amid the celebration of Doubleday’s 125th anniversary, sadly, we also commemorate the passing of an author and publishing colleague, who was a contributor to its success.
    Thomas Cahill, one-time director of the imprint’s eponymous vaunted religious publishing program, and the author of the Nan A. Talese imprint’s bestselling multi-volume “Hinges of History” series, died at 82 on October 18 in Manhattan.

    Amanda Gorman and Chrissy King Honored with Girls Write Now’s Agents of Change Award

    Penguin Random House is proud of it’s longstanding relationship with Girls Write Now, New York’s first and only writing and mentoring organization for girls and gender non-conforming youth. The organization has been distinguished three times by the White House as one of the nation’s top after school programs, and twice by the Nonprofit Excellence Awards as one of New York City’s top ten nonprofits.

    The 2022 Frankfurt Book Fair kicked off on Wednesday, October 19th with a flurry of exciting book deals, author speaking engagements, and exhilarated attendees.
