August 20, 2026Penguin Press to Publish Charles Spencer’s SWAN SONG, the Story of His Sister Diana, Princess of Wales
Charles Spencer will publish SWAN SONG: Diana, My Sister which tells the story of his sister Diana’s life from a brother’s perspective, with Penguin Press, a division of Penguin Random House. President & Publisher Scott Moyers acquired North American rights from Penguin UK. Penguin Michael Joseph will publish in the UK and the book will be published globally around the world and translated into 12 languages. U.S. publication is slated for September 22, 2026.

August 6, 2026Penguin Random House and Partners File Amended Complaint Challenging Iowa Book Ban Case
On July 27, Penguin Random House, alongside Hachette, HarperCollins, Macmillan, Simon & Schuster, Sourcebooks, and the Authors Guild, filed an amended complaint in statewide book banning law Penguin Random House v. Robbins.

Bantam Books has acquired two new thrillers by #1 New York Times bestselling author Lee Child featuring Frances Neagley, the iconic former U.S. Army Master Sergeant, from the bestselling Jack Reacher novels. The first novel, ZERO MARGIN, co-written with acclaimed thriller writer Yasmin Angoe, will be published in March 2027.

July 16, 2026Grammy-Nominated Musician James Mercer of The Shins to Publish Debut Picture Book With RHCB
Random House Studio, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books, will publish BOOK OF DREAMS, a debut picture book by Grammy-nominated musician James Mercer, founder and frontman of The Shins, and illustrated by acclaimed designer and illustrator Jacob Escobedo, SVP of Creative for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, it was announced today by Lee Wade, VP & Publisher, Random House Studio. Maria Correa, Editor, Random House Studio, acquired North American rights for the project from Janine Kamouh at WME Books, who represented both the author and the illustrator.
